Hailing from Taunton, Massachusetts Cory Nelson has been playing card games most of his life. You may remember Cory from the Rochester event as the guy who got cut from the MGLA promo video. Most notably Cory has had two deep runs top-cutting the Rochester Regional with Shigaraki 3 on the Order Symbol, and the very last webcam regional with Shigaraki 3 on the Death symbol.

He started playing late in to the life of MHA set 2 with his friends Ethan, Davon, and Spencer also founding members of the MGLA, starting with Staff Strike Jiro 1. As time progressed he found his favorite card to be Indiscriminate shock 1.3 Million Volts and now tries to jam it into every retro deck he can (e.g. Wen, Sophitia, seong mi-na), and newly Paul. These days you can catch Cory playing games on a variety of different symbols specializing in Good, Order, and Death. An integral part of the team and easily one of the coolest members you can find Cory at your next regional vaping outside of the venue.

In January 2025 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life. That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist’s desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life. The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as THIS MAN. From January 2025 until today, at least 2000 8.000 people have claimed they have seen this man in their dreams, in many cities all over the world: Rochester, Dallas, Indiana, Rochester again, Fort Worth, Atlanta, Boston, Beijing, Rome, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, New Dehli, Moskow etc.

Danny had always loved collecting funny little cardboard with the shiny pictures of monsters on them but it wasn't until about 2013 when he realized the power of the actual words on them. That’s when he started playing Magic: The Gathering casually although never really branching out past kitchen table games of both Standard and Commander with friends and still collects to this day in a much lighter fashion. He didn't really get the fever for competitive card games until Universus came along. In the summer of 2022, Danny and the owner of his local game store were trying to establish a card game (outside of the popular juggernauts like Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, etc.) to bolster the store. That is when they heard about a cool new My Hero Academia card game. They ended up loving the demo so much that they hit the ground running with Set 1 and started fostering the Universus scene in the Massachusetts area. After all was said and done, a solid community of over 10 local players was formed and Danny’s passion for Universus became more than just a simple hobby. Danny prioritizes more of a supportive role among the team over placements in events. He keeps up with meta changes, new developments, recent event findings and any other UVS knowledge to help the boys, gals, etc. of the team to get every possible angle to improve, adapt and see their own strengths/shortcomings. Or as Danny likes to put it, "Let us sit about the meta, and speak feverishly. Chatting into the wee hours of...New deck ideas, of the higher plane!" At events he can be found cheering on members after wins or helping them reset after losses. An interesting fact about Danny: he’s been banned from PayPal
